Why?
Once I like soup operas and amazon legends, I decided to search stories that match both. For more surprising it could seems, I found the perfect one. My friends, I present to you an amazing story: The Origin of Mount Roraima (imagine a dramatic music). For those who do not see soap operas and who didn’t understand the joke, search ‘’Império’’ in google, and go get a little more culture!

The Legend
The Mucuxi, an indian tribe from Roraima, claims that before Mount Roraima, the earth of the region was low and swampy (like Florida). They lived with an abundance of food: plenty of fruits and great waters to fish. They did not have to fight to survive and everything was pacific.
One day a beautiful banana tree started to growth in the area and had gorgeous and appetizing fruits. The shamans of the tribe received a divine message and warned that the tree was a sacred being, so no one could ever touch or eat it. If so, the tribe would be cursed.
Everybody got afraid and started to obey the shamans’ rules. However, in the morning of a certain day, the tribe noticed that a bunch of banana had been torn; the consequences did not take much time to happen.
The ground started to shake, lightings crossed the sky and everybody got scared. It was the apocalypse. When suddenly, in the middle of that swamped lands, the earth started to erupt, it was Mount Roraima.
